Starting Over…Again

FMFThe pool of players that will represent Mexico in the upcoming qualifiers against El Salvador(June 6) and Trinidad and Tobago(June 10).

In all 24 players made the list and will be with the team until June 10.

As usual, there’s a surprise or two.

Surprises

‘Maza’ Rodriguez- Hasn’t had regular playing time
Hector Moreno- Is still recovering from his injury
Cuautemoc Blanco- He declared that he wanted to come back, but he’s 36 now…
Guillermo Franco- He hasn’t been playing either
Oscar Perez- There’s better choices out there

Most of the call ups are the usual suspects. Of course, Marquez is out because of his recent operation.

Zinha who has been pulling strings at Toluca is still missing, and Luis Michel who had a good showing in the Clausura 2009 with Chivas(when is he FINALLY going to get his turn?). And of course Oswaldo Sanchez who seems to be a regular on recent lists.

Ellis- That one’s hard to call. He can still play, but I think for these games if he does it’ll be last 30 mins if we’re really in trouble. The WC is stretching it though…

asdf- My thoughts exactly.

Andres-It’s not. I mean I could’ve altered the list, but I’m not that great with computers.

Javier- I’m kinda leaning towards that too. There’s too many players that haven’t played and therefore will probably not be at the highest level. If Sven were still manager he probably would’ve been fired just putting out this list. But it’s Aguirre so…
