Mexicans Abroad 2/4-2/5

Another week, another goal for Nery Castillo. And Carlos Vela. And Chicharito.

Plus, Jonathan Dos Santos was promoted to the first team.

Check out what the other Mexicans Abroad representatives did this past week.

SPAIN

Pablo Barrera(Real Zaragoza)- Barrera was not considered for the 1-2 loss to Rayo Vallencano.

Hector Moreno (Espanyol) – Moreno played all 90 minutes in the 3-3 draw against Athletic Bilbao.

Taufic Guarch(Espanyol B)- Guarch was not called for the 1-1 draw against Pobla de Mafumet.

Andres Guardado (Deportivo la Coruña)- Guardado played all 90 minutes during the 1-0 win against Recreativo.

Jonathan Dos Santos (Barcelona )- Dos Santos was promoted to Barcelona’s first team, after Keita left for the African Cup of Nations. He played the last 10 minutes of the Copa del Rey semifinal match against Valencia. He played 76 minutes and was praised for his performance by Guardiola during the 2-1 win against Real Sociedad.

Carlos Vela (Real Sociedad) – Vela entered the 2-1 loss to Barcelona in the 58th minute. He scored his side’s only goal in the 74th minute.

Anibal Zurdo(Guadalajara)- Zurdo played all 90 minutes in the 3-2 loss to Las Palmas.

ENGLAND

Giovani Dos Santos (Tottenham)- Dos Santos failed to secure a transfer or loan to any other team and will remain with Tottenham for the rest of the season. He was not called for the 3-1 win against Wigan. Tottenham plays Liverpool later in the week.

Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez (Manchester United)-’Chicharito’ started and played 73 minutes in the midweek match against Stoke. He scored via penalty in the 38th minute. He was sent to the bench for the match against Chelsea, but came on in the 53rd minute. ‘Chicharito’ then helped lead a United comeback, scoring the equalizer against Chelsea in the 84th minute with a header.

Antonio Pedroza(Crystal Palace)- Pedroza was not called for the 0-0 draw against Middlesbrough and may be heading out on loan.

FRANCE

Guillermo Ochoa(Ajaccio)- Ochoa played all 90 minutes during the 1-1 draw against Nice. They remain out of the relegation zone.

GERMANY

Francisco ‘Maza’ Rodriguez (Stuttgart) - Rodriguez remained on the bench for the 2-2 draw against Bayer Leverkusen.

SCOTLAND

Efrain Juarez(Celtic)- Juarez returned to Celtic after not finding another team to take him on loan. He was not called for the 2-0 win against Inverness.

PORTUGAL

Edson Rivera(Braga)- Rivera was not registered for the Europa League, and he was not called for the match against Maritimo.

GREECE

Nery Castillo (Aris)- Castillo extended his scoring streak against Xanthi. He scored in the 67th minute and came off in the 85th minute to help his team to a 2-0 win.

NETHERLANDS

Ulises Davila(Vitesse)- Davila was not called for the 1-0 win against NAC Breda.

CROATIA

Jose Delgadillo(HNK Rijelka) - Remains with the team in the offseason.

Finland

Jose Manuel Rivera- Rivera resigned with ROPS and will resume training February 11.
