Here Comes El Tri In Black

Guys, we are going to be sporting some major swag this summer.

If you didn’t like the new green jerseys, maybe you’ll like the new away kits instead. Adidas made it obvious about the color of the new away kit by selling fan jerseys in both green and black (can’t link them because they’re out of stock and off the website) and the goalkeeper jersey in 2007 was also black, but now it’s confirmed. We will be wearing black this summer, hopefully in the opening match to South Africa as well.

Mexico has traditionally had white as an away kit as long as I can remember, with some exceptions here and there (USA 94 for example). They also had a pink olympic kit back in 2004. Also, the goalkeeper jersey looks pretty cool in red, but would you have liked the entire squad to be wearing that color instead?

Opinions will be mixed but as for me, I’m excited. Enough talking, just drool at the pictures already. Opinions are more than welcome.

This is everything for El Tri. The people of Mexico have a deep part of their hearts dedicated to this team. This jersey is more than just a difference from the usual white uniform.. It’s symbolic of a powerful team going to SA. Guardado, Dos Santos, Vela leading the attack. Blanco focusing the middle. Marquez leading the defense. Memo keeping the goals out. Mexico is a sleeping giant that is waking up come June 11.

Mexico still will likely wear green in the opener, because South Africa’s home kit is yellow.

I love the black jerseys wow!! i was a fan of the green ones. but these are crazy awesome just imagine south africa looking across the pitch and seeing chau, giovanni, guardado, vela,rodriguez, marquez all in black, and memo in his red…pretty sweet lol

I might be attending to one of the friendly matches that el Tri will play in Europe – probably the one at Wembley Stadium… I truly hope they use the black uniform in most of these matches, and of course, at the WorldCup opening match too!

This would be the one used on the opener. So Africa plays at home. I like the shirt but hate the green used on the home one.

I think that the only “home” game would be against Uruguay.

Will Adidas be selling this jersey in long-sleeved? Or is this just for the players? And is it available in the UK?

I’m pretty sure they’ll be available in long sleeve as well.

Not exactly sure but the away kits arent for sale yet. And since they’ll be available online, you can get yours in the UK ol’ chap!

I believe there are two kinds of jerseys: one made for fans (still looks as close to the players’ versions as possible) and a Tech Fit, which is fancy as hell and specifically made for playing in.

I wanted to buy the long sleeve away jersey at the new zealand game, i spoke to the vendors there and they said the long sleeve away jersey goes on sale next month.

Just got my short sleeve black jersey. I am in love with it. I STRONGLY recommend that anybody looking to buy one, to try it out first because it must fit well. Also, people with beer bellies, beware. Just my two cents
