3 Players Out For Honduras

March 30th, 2009 | By: Andrea | 2 Comments »

OUTAfter the 2-0 win over Costa Rica, Mexico was given a high. Now reality has hit again, and this time took 3 players along with it. Giovani Dos Santos, Edgar Castillo, and Ricardo Osorio are set to miss out.

Giovani Dos Santos will go back to England because he failed to get better from his muscular injury.

Edgar Castillo will not travel because he lost his passport. He wasn’t able to get the proper documents, and nothing could be done to expedite the process.

Ricardo Osorio came down with a stomach infection due to something he ate and during the night had strong pains. Now he will not be able to travel. My guess, he ate one a taco from one of the street vendors outside of the Azteca.

Good news is that Carlos Salcido and Carlos Vela have finished serving out their suspensions and will make up part of the 22 players who travel to Honduras for the game on Wednesday.

Sorry about that hector. I didn’t mean to imply that Mexicans are dirty or anything. I’m Mexican and I wouldn’t say that about myself or my fellow country people. But as in any place anywhere in the world, street food is probably not the best choice. I’ve gotten sick in places other than Mexico for eating street food, so I was making a reference to that because I’m sure that I’m not the only one that it’s happened to. Sometimes even in restaurants it happens, but it’s just a normal thing I guess. Sorry if I offended you.
