Mexicans in Europe 9/20-21
Lots of action in several European leagues. Some teams had a good showing while some individual players got themselves into some trouble.
Spain
Rafael Marquez(Barcelona)-Marquez played all 90 mins in Barcelona’s 6-1 win over Real Sporting de Gijon. Barca now sit in 9th place after 3 games.
Guillermo Franco(Villarreal)-Villarreal won 2-1 over Numancia in which Franco played 68 mins before he was substituted.
Andres Guardado(Deportivo La Coruna)- Guardado played all 90 mins in Deportivo’s 0-0 draw against Mallorca. He got involved when Bravo received his red card on his first start in La Liga.
Omar Bravo(Deportivo La Coruna) Bravo received his first team start in La Liga but it was ruined with a red card during the 59th min.
Javier Aguirre(Atletico De Madrid) The coach saw a 4-0 win against Recreativo Huelva during the weekend after a strong Champions League showing.
England
Carlos Vela(Arsenal) Carlos Vela stayed on the bench the whole game in Arsenal’s 3-1 win over Bolton. The Gunners are now 1st in the league.
Gio Dos Santos(Tottenham)- Gio did not play in Tottenham’s 0-0 draw against Wigan. The Spurs now sit 20th in the league.
Nery Castillo(Man City) -Castillo did not play in Manchester City’s 6-0 thumping of Portsmouth. He’s been seeing action meanwhile in the Reserves.
Germany
Pavel Pardo(Stuttgart)-Pavel Pardo is still out from the injury suffered during WC qualifying and had to watch the game from the stands.
Ricardo Osorio(Stuttgart)- Osorio played all 90 mins in Stuttgart’s 3-1 win over Karlsruhe. They now sit 3rd in the league.
Aaron Galindo(Eintracht Frankfurt)-Eintracht lost 1-0 to Schalke and Galindo received a yellow card in the 13th min. He played all 90 mins.
Netherlands
Carlos Salcido(PSV)- Salcido did not play in the 1-0 defeat to AZ Alkaamar due to an injury.
Maza Rodriguez(PSV)-El Maza got his first start in the 1-0 loss to AZ Alkaamar. He played 87 mins.
Hector Moreno(AZ Alkaamar)- Moreno played all 90 mins in AZ’s win over current champions PSV.
Turkey
Antonio de Nigris (ANKARASPOR) -He did not participate in his teams 4-0 win over Hacettepe.
