Mexicans in Europe 10/18-29/08
Back from the disappointing qualifiers, the European leagues resumed.
Spain
Rafael Marquez(Barcelona)-Marquez for 66 mins before he was taken off for Puyol. He had a solid game until he got injured. Barca got all 3 points in the 1-0 win over Athletic Bilbao.
Guillermo Franco(Villarreal)-Villarreal tied 0-0 against Espanyol and Franco played for 16 mins coming on for Rossi.
(Andres Guardado(Deportivo La Coruna)- Was not called up for the 0-0 draw against Racing Santander.
Omar Bravo(Deportivo La Coruna)- Stayed on the bench the whole game.
Javier Aguirre(Atletico)-Ay ay. I was really hoping that Atleti would finally win. Unfortunately they went down to Real Madrid 2-1.
England
Carlos Vela(Arsenal)-Carlitos remained on the bench the whole game in which Arsenal beat Everton 3-1. Seems like he’ll have to try harder to get into the team now that Van Persie is fit and and Theo Walcott is finding the net.
Giovanni Dos Santos(Tottenham)- The only thing funnier than watching Tottenham self destruct is well…nothing. Luckily Giovanni was spared the humiliation of losing to Stoke as he was not called up to play in the 2-1 defeat.
Nery Castillo(Man City)-Oh Nery where art thou? He’s been MIA for a long time now and he wasn’t called up to play against Newcastle. Chivas is not negotiating to take Nery on loan.
Germany
Pavel Pardo(Stuttgart)-Pardo has recovered from his injury and played all 90mins in Stuttgart’s 2-1 loss to Hertha Berlin.
Ricardo Osorio(Stuttgart)- Osorio was not called up to play against Hertha Berlin.
Aaron Galindo(Eintracht Frankfurt)- Galindo played all 90 mins in Frankfurt’s 0-2 loss to Bayern Leverkusen.
Netherlands
Carlos Salcido(PSV)- Carlos Salcido played all 90mins in PSV’s 2-1 loss to NAC Breva.
Maza Rodriguez(PSV)- El Maza found his way onto the team in the 23rd min and played 67 mins in PSV’s loss.
Hector Moreno(AZ Alkaamar)- Moreno played all 90 mins in AZ’s win over De Graafshap.
Turkey
Antonio De Nigris(Anaranksapor)- Was not called up again during his teams 2-1 loss to Kayserispor.
