Where My Girls At?

Mexican Women's National Team vs. Jamaica With the men’s national team out of the olympics the women’s national team has seen a growth in supporters as they play in the women’s olympic qualifying tournament.

The women’s national team won their first game against Jamaica by a margin of 8-1. That’s more goals scored in one game than the men scored in their whole tournament. The highlight player of the match was Evelyn López who scores half of Mexico’s goals.

The women’s next game is on Sunday against the US, and although this game isn’t the traditional rivalry, with many Mexican football fans looking to see their team compete for a medal in the olympics, I’m sure there will be some hype surrounding this female border battle.

Sí se puede.

Well at least the girls are having some success. Now if only the men’s senior national team could reproduce similar results.
