I played with Edgar in high school, and I think he should stay where his career was made – the U.S. The U.S. national team didn’t want him before, but now they should realize this home-grown talent can slip out of their reach if they’re not smart. He’s young and has a great career ahead of him.

No doubt, I’ve seen his high school tapes and he was amazing. He was good in santos as well. But then he got too cocky, signed with America and then completley sucked there. Bitched ab time with the team and then thinks he can make the US team? What a child!

Wouldn’t doubt it that Castillo was thinking that at one point lol. Does anyone realize how hard it is to be Mexican-American and then play for El Tri? First of all, no one wants you there and the media/fanbase will think of you as a joke. Somehow, someway, he was lucky to be called by the legendary HUGOL to play. I would love to play for the tri if I had the oppurtunity. Castillo could have just slapped everybody that’s is a fan of El tri, especially the Mexican American ones that looked up to him for what he was doing, playing for el tri and in the FMF league. What a loser…

I really can’t believe that this fool (castillo) is all of a suden trying to play with the US. I really had respect for this guy but after this bull, he will loose many supporters like myself because you just don’t do that (traidor). I really dont think if he gets call by el tri that he should play because he is showing more individualism than anything else. And by the way I hate El America where he plays and fools like that play for teams like that. Im an Indios fan for life and el tri is my passion!!!! Forget this fool!!!!

Al could have not said it any better. Here’s a guy that refused to play for the US at first to play for EL Tri then realizes he not what he thinks he is and then wants to join the US after an impressive show at Confeds. Cup. This guy is definitely a glory hunter and is a disgrace to both teams. I too am a Mexican-American. I love both cultures but when it comes down to futbol, you choose one side and not the side that’s doing good all of a sudden. If I had the oppurtunity that this Caca had, id play for only one team , El Tri

If you “love” both the USMNT and the Mexico NT, you’re a glory hunter.

It’s okay to love both countries, I love the USA and Mexico too. But in football terms, I believe you must only pick one between the two and nothing more.

Do we really want anyone on our team whose heart is attached to another country’s shirt also?

The Nads can have Castillo. Forget him.

Seems pretty lame that he says it right after the US comes out of playing some of the best football they’ve ever played and in a tournament as the Confed Cup. I think he doesn’t deserve to play in both. As a Mexican fan I wouldn’t want him back and if I were a US fan I wouldn’t want a player whos played in a rival team and is just taking advantage of the moment and time the US mens team is going through to play for us. Plus I don’t think he’s good enough to play in Mexico yet alone the US hah
