With 5 goals, Mexico won against the USA in the Gold Cup final to become the 2009 Champions. Five was the reoccurring number as this is also Mexico’s 5th Gold Cup.

After an agonizing time, Mexico will meet the US for the Gold Cup 2009 Finals in New York on Sunday after beating Costa Rica 1-1(Mexico through on penalties).

As opposed to previous games involving Mexico, this one was finally interesting. In the 2nd game of the Gold Cup, Mexico met up with Panama in Houston, Texas to play a 1-1 draw. As they say, “Everything’s bigger in Texas.” The saying held true as the game exploded with red cards.

It was a game at the Azteca so everyone was pretty sure that Mexico was going to win the game against Trinidad and Tobago. They did win, but it was close. Everyone expected for Mexico to play a spectacular game, to have to score be 10-0.
