Can you say "douchebags"? You can't even compare that fat spaniard, Jose mamon fernandez, to ANYONE from televisa. He couldnt stand the fact that a lowly mexican could succeed in spain.

I take Valdano + Menotti + Aguirre + Andres Bustamante over any of the guys you mentioned.

Remember, it is not only about the number of impressive name you have, but how well they can talk in front of a camera and express their ideas, and believe me, that TV Azteca group runs rings around all of the guys you mentioned from telerisa, plus their analysis is much better.

Emilio Fernando Alonso >>> Perro bermudez (I want a good narrator, not a clown).

Another thing Rene, Televias has as commentators the following: Samuel Eto, Bernard Schuster (I am not sure if you know who he is) Hugo Sanchez, Carlos Bianchi, Gabriel Batistuta etc... Javier Aguirre is very good at what he does as well by the way.

Ok guys I will give credit to Univision and TV Azteca but I have to tell you that if you had Sky Mexico you could watch ALL of the Spanish channels and nothing compares to Telerisa like Rene called it, the thing is that since Univision is the only spanish station in the States everyone thinks is the best but oh well. Good luck to Mexico.

I just really enjoy the enthusiasm and passion with how the Univision guys cover the games, regardless of who's playing. ABC/ESPN is just lifeless and too much US oriented.

Hey guys.. I have the luxury to be a computer teacher. This is what i do all day long. I watch the games on line, and let me tell you. IT RULES..
UNIVISION RULES..

if anyone wants to watch univision or espn on line here is the link to download tvuplayer

http://www.shareup.com/TVUPlayer-download-47142.html

it si great, watching the germany/pland game in the classroom is nuts.. My students are a little concern for me.

I tell them that i'm typing and grading...

anyways. I love you all. Hope mexico plays well

let go EL TRI

about univision. I like their little cheesy stage, i love the coverage. but what i really like about univision is the way that they present the game. They always start with the namtional anthems and the flags. I love that part. ESPN skips it.. i also like CHILA, even though he hated his team, and he is so harsh with them.

I also listen to ANdres cantor on the radio. His GOALS are a little long, and my radio starts to fuzz, but he does a great job.
Bracamontes GOL GOL GOL GOL GOL gets really boring after a while, but it's his signature...

anyway got to give it to UNIVISION...

i had all of the germanny fans from the US watching on the web from the TVU player.,.

Quick thoughts on the television coverage.

Espn: give them credit for trying, they have at least all the games live. Long ways to go, almost have to press mute. Studio crew is scary horrible. The good thing is the ratings are up despite the negatives. FYI-The High Definition is spectacular. Saw the England game in High Def. Holy smokes, need one of those bad boys.

Univision: awesome, awesome, awesome coverage. Spanish speakers and non-spanish speakers are raving about the coverage. Live fan shots in towns, travel channel type coverage plus, overall feel good stuff. Almost overkill but it makes you really feel how cool the WC is. Any network that dedicates their entire month to WC is good in my book. The ratings are national records. Nice.

As for Univision game commentary and analysis. They get a passing grade overall. Being at the stadium live at most matches is killer. Jesus Bracamontes is insightful and keeps you feeling positive about the game.

The in-studio stuff is only okay, Fernando Fiore is cheesy as heck and Enrique Borja is predictable but they get credit for trying.

The big surprise for me is Jose Chilavert. Incredibly insightful as color commentator during games. And, it's cool picking up some good insights and learning some things from his experiences and learn stuff average fans watching can't pick up or don't realize.

Most surprising is his professionalism, the guy knows his stuff. He's real impartial.

Just goes to show, don't judge a book by it's cover, his reputation preceeded him. He even gets credit in my book for kissing Barbara Bermudo on film in front of people, and admitting he is not a good looking guy.

With all these good ratings, it's only getting better for us fans.

I went home to watch the first Mexico game. I was very dissapointed with Los Protagonistas. They should just let them talk, Valdano, Menotti, Aguirre. One night they didn't even cover all the games. Lots of filler stuff, lots of commercials. Awful.

Televisa is worse though.

I don't. I have the chance to visit some relatives in Mexico during the weekends and watch good soccer coverage there.

My only gripe with Los Protagonistas is the new format where they limit Menotti to 1 minute and have Valdano use convent background music.

By the way, if you are in the U.S. and want to watch those segments, you can do it directly at www.tvazteca.com/deportes and press the link for Protagonistas.
