Pardo agrees with all of us

June 5th, 2006 | By: John | 8 Comments »

Pavel Pardo has echoed the sentiments that many of us have shared over the last few weeks: the game vs. Iran is the most important of the 1st round.

“it’s the most important game.” He added, “This is a must win for us.” He also hinted on the strategy to deal with Iranian strengths: “First and foremost, if we have to control the ball, have a majority of the possession, and then create scoring options, They won’t be able to rely on their speed.” What a genius!! I can honestly say that if that is how the game goes, then Mexico will win. But that’s why they play the game.

Well if the game plan is only controling Irans speed then goodluck coming sunday. I watch both iran games against Bosnia and cortia and i have to tell you all these guys are REALLY REALLY fast and their offince is really strong it will be a hihg scoring game. Mexico has go to score cuz i can promise you right now Iran will score goals in this game,so no 0-0 or 1-1 if the game is slow like a midfield type of football then Mexico will win other than that Iran will take 3 pints out of this game.

From what I understand, Iran also has a very suspect defense. Someone told me that Croatia could have easily won that match had they been a little better at scoring that day.

It seems to me this is the kind of game where the best defense against Iran will be to attack them instead of waiting to do counters.

Yes, but those starters were not defenders, but rather midfielders and a forward, if I recall.

Yea everyone in Iran wants to play offense! (I grew up there..) most our defenders even score for us, but I do agree with you guys, our defense has been making some bad mistakes. We’re lucky we’ve got a good mid and forward! I say if all our FIX players can make it to the Mexico game, including Mahdavikia, we’ll win 2-1! :) Good luck to you guys!

Key contest
Rafael Marquez versus Ali Karimi . Marquez, Mexico’s captain and undisputed star, is likely to be given the task of stopping the elusive Karimi. Solidity versus speed. Explosiveness versus reliability. Barcelona versus Bayern Munich. What more can you ask for?

Okay boys Marquez is going to get owned by Karimi’s speed no joke , i really do hope yo guys have other plans for stoping Karimi, and i don’t even know what you gus going to do about Mahdavikia that guy is as fast as a bullet and he is a great finisher and he has a great ball control. Like i said it’s not going to be a one goal game it’s going to be high scoring, cuz Irans D is not good enough. once again good lck to Iran and Mexico it will be great to see both teams next round.
