Mexico to impose Code of Ethics
After a summer filled with player defections and controversies during the Gold Cup and Copa America, the Mexican Football Federation and the Assembly of Mexico´s First Division have come up with a solution…a Code of Ethics! Wow, as if wearing the jersey and representing your country wasn´t enough! Details of the plan weren´t provided.
Jorge Vergara, owner of the Chivas de Guadalajara, denied that the code was the result of any bad conduct. In that spirit, let´s recap some of the drama surrounding players on the national team this summer.
Carlos Salcido- Pulled out of the Copa America squad citing fatigue but later revealed he had a bad relationship with one of the coaches who wanted to play him with a few minutes left in the game.
Pavel Pardo and Ricardo Osorio-Both played in the Gold Cup but both abstained from Copa America citing fatigue.
Rafa Marquez-Pulled out the squad after Mexico´s loss to Argentina in the semifinals of the Copa America because of fatigue and so he could be with family.
In other news, the squad lists for the games against Panama and Brasil will be unveiled this friday.

I heard rumors from ESPN News that Rafa Marquez pulled out of COPA AMERICA for thrid place because two days before the game against Argentina, Cuatemoc Blanco and Neri Castillo, both roomates, went out to a club that night. The next day for training, one of the coaches went to check their rooms for early practice and they weren’t there. Both beds were untouch. Rafa Marquez as the team captain got mad and told Hugo to discipline them and give them a warning. But Hugo didn’t do anything about it, and that is why Rafa pulled out to play for third place.
