Mexicans in Europe Midweek Ed.
We’ve got 2 left. One got knocked out this week but 2 continue in hopes of becoming Champions of Europe.
Carlos Salcido(PSV)- They’re out from the UEFA Cup after getting a crucial away goal at Fiorentina last week. At home they gave up 2 goals. Salcido was disappointed with the result and had this to say:
“We never really got going, and didn’t show what we were capable of,” he said. “Now we just have to pick ourselves up and concentrate on Sunday’s game.”
However, there is a positive note. PSV can win the title if they win their game against 4th place FC Twente.
Rafael Marquez(Barcelona)- Marquez went in during the 81st min for match goalscorer Yaya Toure. He didn’t seem to have much impact on the game but at least he’s logging in minutes and Barca has advanced and will face Man United in the semis.
Giovanni Dos Santos(Barcelona)- Bojan has been getting more time on the field than Gio but that may be because of Gio’s “injury.” He didn’t have much of an impact on the game but more that Marquez when he had a shot on goal during the 79th min. Next is Recreativo away on the 12th.
