Mexicans in Europe, 4/3-4, 2010
Jonathan plays with the senior Barca squad, Osorio finally gets a few minutes, and many more Mexicans ride the bench.
Spain
Rafael Marquez (FC Barcelona):
No appearance for Rafa in Barca’s 4-1 romp over Athletic Bilbao.
Jonathan Dos Santos (Barcelona Atletic):
Entered the 74th minute in Barca’s win over Athletic, and played a cool one-touch match.
Andres Guardado (Deportivo de La Coruña):
Played the full 90 in Depor’s 3-0 loss to Atlético Madrid. Had a really bad game and Depor looked helpless.
England
Carlos Vela (Arsenal FC):
Came on in the 79th minute in Arsenal’s 1-0 win over Wolves. Van Persie is likely to return soon, so Carlos better get his minutes from somewhere.
Guillermo Franco (West Ham United):
No appearance for Franco in West Ham’s 2-2 draw away to Everton.
Germany:
Ricardo Osorio (VfB Stuttgart):
Came on in the 87th minute in Stuttgart’s 2-1 win over Borussia Monchengladbach (gosh it hurts to pronounce that).
Holland:
Carlos Salcido (PSV Eindhoven):
Played the full 90 in PSV’s 1-0 win over Willem II.
Francisco “Maza” Rodriguez (PSV Eindhoven):
Maza played 72 minutes in that same match as well.
Hector Moreno (AZ Alkmaar):
Didn’t play from suspension, but AZ won 2-0 over Utrecht.
Turkey:
Giovani dos Santos (Galatasaray):
Playing as I type this. Galatasaray is tied 1-1 away to Sivasspor and a huge fight broke out between both teams. No goals from Gio yet.
Ukraine:
Nery Castillo (FC Dnipro):
Wastin’ away again in margaritaville.
