Mexico Update

August 27th, 2007 | By: Kevin Zelaya | 2 Comments »

Hola I´m Kevin and I´ll be your new blogger now lets talk Mexico. Five days after Mexico´s 0-1 loss to Colombia I´m still left wondering what happened to the exciting Mexico team that started the game owning the ball playing attacking football? Next thing I know Macnelly Torres passes a gem to Jaime Castrillon and then Boom! Sanchez scrambes and subs out Bravo, Landin, Rodriguez, Cerda and Araujo practically creating a 4-3-3 but the youngsters fell short.

Looking forward to the upcoming friendly against Panama on September 9, Sanchez said he will call up Carlos Vela (who hopes to makes his debut for Osasuna next week), Giovanni Dos Santos ( who should make his Barcelona debut this week), and Andres Guardado (who made his debut for Deportivo La Coruna in a 0-3 loss), lets hope that takes care of the gols and killer instinct that wasn´t there against Colombia.

Any thoughts on the Colombia game, Nery Castillo going to Shakhtar Donetsk or comments on any other Mexican players abroad or at home?

Welcome Kevin! Well, I am kinda upset Castillo wasn’t sold to a bigger club, preferably a Premier League or La Liga club, especially after there was rumored interest from Valencia, Chelsea, and Manchester City.

I agree, since when has large amounts of money scared off English and Spanish teams? Nery is worth every euro. Its sad because Nery didn´t want to leave Olympiacos but they couldn´t match his price of 15 million euros and Shakhtar could!
