Made Jamaica Crazy and Had an “Eh” Game With Canada

Over the last few days Mexico played against Jamaica and Canada for World Cup Qualifying. Mexico won both games and is comfortably on their way to South Africa in 2010.

Jamaica
The action started quickly with Carlos Vela being brought down. Guardado took the free kick and scored a goal with only 2 mins on the clock. Throughout the game there seemed to be quite a bit of violence with the Mexicans and Jamaicans going at each other. During the 12th min it seemed like #17 Goodison got his studs trapped in Gio’s face. In the 21st Arce shot near the post. During the 32nd Arce shot at goal and scored. During the 43rd Marquez made a horrible tackle. He went in studs up and luckily nothing too serious happened but he deserved a red card.

In the 13th min of the second half Pardo overextended his knee and was injured. Torrado came on for him. In the 17th min Magallon volleyed up front and scored a spectacular goal.

And there was an awesome pass by Blanco..with his back.

Canada

Mexico was expected to win this game and they did. The first goal came from a Bravo header in the 13th minute of the second half after he had come on for Giovanni in the 8th min. The second goal was by Marquez(also a header) in the 27th min. During the 32nd a bad mistake from Oswaldo Sanchez who really had nothing to do the whole game gave Canada a goal. Guardado and Blanco were both yellow carded for diving although Guardado’s was definitely not a dive. The news that overshadowed the whole thing was Blanco’s retirement from international football.
